Hydronics
Energy Tech has experience with pressurized water loops in processing, chilled water, hot water, and domestic. Our team provides services for piping repairs and replacements. We have chemical treatment partners that help us determine the right plans for scaling and protecting the integrity of the piping during its lifetime. ETS provides diagnostics, repairs, and replacements on expansion tanks, mixing valves, air separators, make-up water feed systems, balancing valves, control valves, and glycol feed systems. We recently pumped 3,000 gallons of propylene glycol in a chilled water system to prevent the piping from freezing during -15-degree temperatures.
Cooling Towers
Cooling Towers are critical systems that require maintenance inspections, cleanings, and emergency repairs. Every cooling tower manufacturer has different maintenance schedules and duties to perform to keep the systems in optimal conditions. We recently replaced two 40 Horse-Power cooling tower fan motors on a BAC tower for a GSA government entity.
Pumps
During the commissioning of pump installations, it is critical that the contractor aligns the pump assemblies based on the manufacturer’s specifications. We provide complete teardowns and rebuilds on hydronic pumps and installing new gaskets, seals, bearings, and impellers.
VFDs
Variable Frequency Drives are the industry standard for energy efficiency in your buildings. We work on VFDs that operate pumps, fans, and compressors. Our service technicians are trained on diagnostics, repairs, and replacements on the frequency drives. We have worked with customers that had issues with their drives faulting in over-current during startup, we found that it was the control system PID loop (Proportional Integral Derivative). We PID tuned the control system and got the VFD working correctly.
How do variable frequency drives work?
A variable frequency drive (VFD) is an adjustable speed drive used to control the speed of an electric motor by varying the frequency and voltage supplied to the electric motor. The VFD adjusts the speed and torque of the electric motor by controlling the frequency and voltage of the power supply. The VFD also reduces energy consumption and overloading of the electric motor. The power generated by the variable frequency drive is fed by a rectifier to an inverter that converts it to a variable frequency and voltage output. This variable frequency drive output is then used to regulate the speed of the electric motor.
Roof Top Units
We have experience in crane, rigging, and handling of packaged units and systems on high-rise and large footprint facilities. Air Filtration Systems
Air filtration has always been important to building operations, and the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 highlighted the importance of indoor air quality for our health. VRF / VRV
VRF systems work well because they are a more flexible and efficient way to provide cooling and heating solutions for a variety of building types. Unlike traditional HVAC systems that use one centralized system for air flow throughout a building, a VRF system uses multiple indoor units to provide conditioned air to specific zones. This not only reduces energy consumption by allowing individual zones to be adjusted as needed, but also provides greater control and customization, allowing different zones to be set to different temperatures. Additionally, VRF systems are compact which makes installation much easier than traditional HVAC systems.
